Bootloader unlocking is the process of disabling the bootloader security that makes secure boot possible. It can make advanced customizations possible, such as installing a custom firmware. On smartphones this can be a custom Android distribution or another mobile operating system.
A bootloader is a vendor-proprietary image responsible for bringing up the kernel on a device. The bootloader guards the device state and is responsible for initializing the Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) and binding its root of trust.
The first step is to enable Developer Options on your Android device. To do this, go to Settings, scroll down to the About phone option, Go to Software information, scroll down to the Build number option and tap on it seven times in rapid succession. This will enable Developer Options on your device.
When the fastboot flashing unlock command is sent, the device should prompt users to warn them that they might encounter problems with unofficial images. After the user acknowledges the warning, the device should perform a factory data reset to prevent unauthorized data access.
