Right-click on the taskbar and select “Task Manager”. Click on the “Startup” tab. Locate “Microsoft Edge” in the list. Right-click on “Microsoft Edge” and choose “Disable”.

Open Microsoft Edge and navigate to the ellipses (…) to open Settings and more. Select Settings > Systems and performance. Scroll to Continue running background extensions and apps when Microsoft Edge is closed to toggle it off. Now, when the browser is closed, it won't be running in the background.

Go to the three-dot menu, then Settings > Advanced Settings. Deactivate options like “Open sites in apps” and “Continue running background apps.” That should stop Microsoft Edge from overriding your browser of choice.

One method to disable Microsoft Edge is by accessing the Windows settings. In the settings menu, go to the Apps tab and select the Default Apps option. From there, pick a different browser as the default, thus disabling Microsoft Edge.

Right-click on Windows PowerShell and select “Run as administrator”. Type or copy-paste the command Get-AppxPackage *edge* | Remove-AppxPackage into the PowerShell window. Press Enter to execute the command. This will uninstall Microsoft Edge from your computer.
