On average it should be similar to the old RTX 2080 Super Mobile and therefore best suited for QHD - 4k gaming. The similar named RTX 3070 desktop card is significantly faster.

It depends on what level of gaming you are going for. If you have a 1440p or 4K gaming monitor, the GPU is a great idea as it will be able to reach its full potential. But if you have a lower resolution display, the RTX 3070 Ti is probably overkill and unnecessary.

Even when gaming using ultra settings, or with ray tracing enabled, the RTX 3070 Ti is capable of a ~60 FPS experience or better, across a variety of titles, which we think is very decent for a laptop GPU.

RTX 3070 80W vs RTX 2070 Super Max-Q. The RTX 3070 is faster than previous generation laptop GPUs. Comparing the 80W model to the RTX 2070 Super Max-Q at 90W reveals the RTX 3070 to be 12 percent faster on average.

You want a good value graphics card. At $499 (£469, about AU$700), we would hesitate to call the RTX 3070 cheap, but compared to the more expensive flagship cards like the RTX 3080, it provides excellent performance for the money.
