Anti lag
Anti lag system — DRIVE2
Вопросы и ответы
Car anti-lag system reduces or eliminates turbo lag by making a few adjustments. The anti-lag system uses fuel with exhaust gases to cause combustion due to high temperature in the exhaust manifold. The extra force from the explosions keeps the turbocharger moving even when the engine slows down.
Anti-lag produces a gun sound because it is a process that involves injecting fuel into the engine's exhaust manifold, which then ignites and creates a small explosion. This explosion helps to keep the turbocharger spinning even when the driver is off the throttle, which reduces turbo lag and improves engine response.
Ok, basically anti-lag systems are impractical because they are loud, and they destroy turbochargers. I know that the pulses of the explosions shock the turbochargers, and that is what causes the damage.
Radeon™ Anti-lag is an optional feature which can be toggled on and off during gameplay by pressing an assigned hotkey. The default hotkey is Alt+L and can be changed under the Gaming/Global Settings/Global Graphics menu.
Since many engine components are exposed to very high temperatures during ALS operation and also high-pressure pulses, this kind of system is very hard on the engine, turbocharger and exhaust manifold.
