Winsock reset

For Windows devices, the Winsock reset command restarts the communication required between your device and the network. The int ip reset command rewrites the rules, resetting it to factory default, that are followed by devices to connect to the internet.

There's nothing wrong with running the Winsock reset command as often as you need to, but you shouldn't have to do it more than just a few times throughout the entire life of your computer.

In computing, the Windows Sockets API (WSA), later shortened to Winsock, is an application programming interface (API) that defines how Windows network application software should access network services, especially TCP/IP.

In the search bar, type cmd. From the results, right click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator. Select Yes on the User Account Prompt for the program to be able to make changes to your computer. Type netsh winsock reset into the Command Prompt window and press Enter on the keyboard to run the command.

WinSock is still used mostly by C/C++ application that require an Internet connection and which are specifically built for the Windows platform. It sits between the Application Layer and Transport Layer in any Internet connection on Windows.
